At this time, I would like to point out that we each have a huge interest and a little background in water and wind sports. Ashley has been sailing and windsurfing several times (not that he's a champ by any means) and myself, I have gone surfing a few times and have taken the initial 6 hours of kiteboarding lessons (in Caberete, Dominican Republic, Summer '08).
All the information below was a demonstration of how we have a wide set of skills when it comes to Digital Media. We don't claim to be great, but our desire is to continue growing in all the different digital mediums.
Our main concern is that the people we work for are always more than satisfied with the work that has been created.

A Little Photography
While the use of stock photography is necessary at times, we enjoy taking our own pictures whenever possible. Below are a couple of recent photo shoots.
Absolute Leadership Development: Each member of the "road team" needed a picture to be displayed as a backdrop for when they would speak in high schools. Using lighting techniques and Adobe Photoshop the following pictures were created.
Fluid Image: Using the whiteboard theme, we needed to get some pictures for our new website that is being created. We spent about an hour yesterday setting up a mini photo shoot and these are the shots we were able to create (currently without any post processing Adobe Photoshop).

Web Design Concept
Fluid Image needs a new website and we're constructing that website from scratch. The components that will make up the web page are being made in Adobe Illustrator, then exported and brought into Flash to be pieced together. Our concept is to make the website look like a white board, which will go along with our company branding. The website should be finished in a few weeks but here are some screen shots of our Illustrator files.
The pictures used in the Contact us page will be swapped out. We set up a photo shoot yesterday to get different pictures.
Video Samples
Hero Holiday '08 Promo: Shot in July 2008 for Absolute Leadership Development (www.absolute.org). The video is to get people interested in going on a Hero Holiday Humanitarian Aid trip. The video will be seen in high schools all across Canada.
Think Day Promo: Shot to promote Absolute Leadership Development's new high school motivational assembly format aimed at increasing bookings.

Mock Magazine Ad
Mock Ad for Sony Flat Screen TV: The feature for the television was a clear, high definition picture that gave a "real life" picture. The challenge was to advertise this in a way that had never been done before. Everything from the concept, to the body copy, to the slogan had to be created. The professor was a retired Agency guy from Toronto who would only give a 10/10 if he would consider publishing it in a national magazine (with a few tweaks). He said this was unique, well designed and a 10 out of 10.
Sample Logo's
The following are some sample logos.
Ripe Design: This was the team that was put together for our video class by our teacher Tom Brennan. The main reason behind the name Ripe Design was that we feel that although we were in college, we were perfectly mature to handle dealing with clients and creating great video work.
Flora: Also another team that was put together in the college. The butterfly in the logo was to represent Fauna. Flora (Plant Life) and Fauna (Animal/Insect Life) was to symbolize organic life.
Performance Zone: A business that focused on athlete and military personnel performance was being formed and we were asked to come up with some ideas for logo design. These are a few of our mock up ideas that were submitted.

From Sketchbook Concept to Skatedeck Completion
While looking back for examples of graphic design type work (creation of banner advertisements for campaign assignments), I found an interesting example of taking a concept and turning it into a reality. The challenge was to come up with a skateboard deck design.
I feel the need to explain why I used the Kim Jong II. The challenge was to figure out a line of skate deck graphics that you would sell to a company. A couple years back the North Korean leader was in the news and the idea was to make skate decks after un-liked characters. He was prototype #1.
Below is the progression of the scanned sketchbook character ending up on a skateboard deck.

Overview of Blogging Background
We have been creating various blogs for projects over the past few years. The only blogging program that I have personally used has been blogger, however I'm confident in my ability to learn things like wordpress. One of the blogs I created was for client relations in school last year.
The Ripe Design blog was so that our client (the Salvation Army, Freedom Ministries) could see the progress that we were making. I created a basic header graphic for the blog as well as managed all the posts. (www.theripedesignproject.blogspot.com)

About Mr. Joshua and Mr. Ashley.
Myself and Ashley Smart are the founders of Fluid Image. We work on Mac's and both know our way around the Adobe CS3 Suit (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and the Final Cut Studio (Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro). We also have a little experience in Adobe's recently acquired Flash and Dreamweaver programs.
Currently we are working on re-creating our website. The finished product will be in Flash, but the components are being built in Illustrator. Screen shots of our concept will be displayed a little later in the blog.
Together we have experience in logo creation, graphic design, photography and video editing. Most of our work has been involved with charities. The following posts will portray some of that work.

Enjoy the Blog Resume
Instead of sending a resume with some of the things I have been involved with, I figured it would be easier to use a blog. Each entry will highlight an experience from the Fluid Image business partnership. Enjoy.
